I installed my 555cc injectors and wired up my Z32 MAF sensor , i changed the settings for the MAF on my SAFC 2 to 2in and 5out.. The Problem is when i go to crank the car it makes a bunch of clicking sounds like the battery is dead and then it seems to do some kinda self diagnostics cause i hear clicking all around the motor area for a couple seconds and then it stops ( maybe a dead battery ? ).. Another Thing i noticed was on my SAFC when i plugged the z32 MAF sensor in the SAFC2 reads the sensor and says the AFL is 28% without the engine even being cranked and key was turned to ACC only... could it be i wired the MAF sensor wrong ? PLS HELP ME !!!!

first things first check your battery at an advance its free to check. Then go over your wiring again and possibly put a multimeter on the wires to see if you are getting the proper signal from each wire.

If your battery is good and the wiring is correct, then check if the starter and starter solenoid are working. check the wiring as well. I have had my ground wire come loose on occasion. good luck

Sounds like the battery is dead. How old is it? How long did it sit without running?

it was the battery that was bad.. i replaced and she cranked and started but she's still running extremely rich , i used the SAFC 2 settings off of the KA-T forum.. she idles perfectly but still rich , but not like before when she was sputtering and almost dying out.. but the problem is now , when i step on the pedal she sputters and almost dies... i think the plugs might be bad so im gonna replace em and see what happens.. but does anyone have an idea of what this could be besides fouled plugs ?

I would double-check the wiring on the Z32 maf just to make sure. It is possible that one of the wires could have been crossed causing the ecu to see the wrong readings. Also, are you getting a CEL? Do you have a scan-tool that you can use to check it?

i've already had my check engine light on for a while , thast due to failing rear o2 sensor and EVAP issues. which i've been told is common with KA-T.. one thing ive noticed is my car does not wanna accept the Z32 MAF at the 2in and 5out.. it accepts it at the 1in and 6out and the second menu at 2in and ADDout.. she'll rev past 2500 but its really choppy.. i think it could be that plugs were gapped big at .38 .. im gonna hopefully check the wiring tomm when i have a chance and buy some new plugs and bring it down to .30 and see what that can do for me... if anyone has any other ideas ure .02 is always welcomed.

ive rewired the maf and its running on the 2 in and 6out setting.. im having a few problems.. the car idles fine at around 900...but , the AFL on the SAFC 2 is reading 100%.. another thing that is going on is that once i step on the gas the car drops rpms and almost shuts the car off and is very hard to get her thru the rpms.. could it be i need new plugs ? another thing is that i replaced the plugs but they were fouled cause she was runnin so rich and i gapped em to .38 could that be a problem that there isnt enough spark ?

It would seem that you need to lean it out a tad bit.....Whats your a/f read...What about the injector duty cycle? You should be able to lower it +/- 20% or so......Do you have any vacuum leaks that will certainly make it run rich.....And actually with the z32 maf and those injectors it will want to run a little rich.....I suggest you see if there are any vac leaks....Also invest in an ignition system/control......@2 step ignition control units work great!!!

By the way what is your ignition timing set at?......Iridium plugs with 9mm wires and an ign upgrade are begging 4 an purchase.....

i've set my maf to 3in and 1out and car revs fine the only issue is to do with a low idle around 700 which dips to 500 and when i step on clutch it died .. but thats also cause im pretty much running on an empty tank ...ill fill her up and try somethign else..well here is the settings i've used on my car which i got from another forum..

stock ecu/550cc injectors/walbro/z32maf/stock FPR ( i have a t3/t4 .57 trim )

im gonna move up the Dec Air Ne1 point up a lil more to correct the idle tomm , no time to play with it now..
