I've got a 97 King Cab and the body has seen better days. I've got some pictures of the damage and I was hoping maybe someone that has had similar repairs done could give me a roundabout of what I might expect to pay to fix my truck up nice.

The bed is pretty far gone so I think I'm just gonna make a wood flat bed since I like the way they look anyways. So really I would just want both the rockers repaired and I don't think that should cost more than $500. The passenger side fender is real rotted too but I've got a new one that's spotless I'm just waiting to paint and put on this winter.

Does anyone have any hardbodys with wood beds? I'd love some user pics :D

I had similar areas on mine with just one rust thru spot.
Cost $650.
Have photos on a thread I started.

Get a bed from junkyard pretty cheap and repaint, the lower panels have to be cut out and new metal welded in or it will come back. Price will vary by shop and by region.

I have an old 95 that I got from my grandparents. it spent pretty much from 95 untill 2010 in KC MO.
It rusted in some some of the same spots. I just went to wall mart and bought some fiberglass bondo and fixed it,still need to paint it. It is the AZtec red. I also have a spot in my bed that I am going to do the same thing too. in the spring.

The sad part , the small holes usually turn out to be quite large, some where a small cat can seek shelter. I would not weld in sheet metal. What I did is I went to a plumbing & heating place and had the sheet metal for the rockers made. I also had sheet metal cut for the bed sides. Instead of welding I used a product called SPEEDGRIP Its a Urethane structural adhesive. I cleaned the area and applied the product to the sheet metal. After it flashed I scuffed the area and rather than using paint I primed the area and used sandable undercoating. The large holes in the bed I purchased a gallon of fiberglass and filled them in. The truck has a bed liner so I did not spend a lot of time finishing it. I also completely undercoated the underside.
