97 KA24E rocker/lifter noise

I have 97 pickup with ka24e with lifter noise, I can do the leak down procedure and it will stop, drive it for a few miles about 50 and it starts again..I had the motor changed and the old one had the same problem but much worst. the newer motor came out of a 2wd, mine is 4wd so we had to use the same front cover, oil pan and oil tube..I heard that a cracked tube will cause this..any help would be appericated

Its possible that a crap oil pickup would make your motor louder.

Are you losing any oil? not leaking but just missing somehow.

No the motor doesn't use or leak oil. It sounds like it is only one rocker making the noise, could it be a rocker that just won't stay pumped up? Thanks
