my car is at the shop. been there for like two weeks now.

long story short, the motor is in the car and starts and perrsss. but 10 seconds later it putters and shuts off unless you play with the throttle body thingy (im not the smartest do it yourselfer, so excuse my terminology) that lets air in and out.

What do i do to make the car stay on and not shut off? is it the sensor? oh, and i have a hks drop in, if that changes anything.

also, do it need a longer throttle cable?

please help, any input is greatly appriciated!!!

thanks. i was suppose to pick up the car today, but we ran into this problem. so anyone out there who has done a swap like this let me know pleaseeeee. thanks members.

alsoooo.. i think its a s13 de wiring harness, would that matter since the motor is from an s14?

yes it does matter. 97 motors are OBII and your s13 is OBI so you have to swap the intake manifold and distributor to make it run properly. i recently went through this and mine is running like a champ. if your keeping the s13 harness then keep the whole s13 intake manifold and s13 distributor. everything thing else would work fine. hope this helps.

hey thanks.

heres the thing, i did keep the s13 intake manifold, and s13 distributer. yet the motor turns on and sounds great but wont stay on. it chokes for air or something. is it timing? we did that and they think its the sensor or something????

so tomorrow morning im going to take the stock air box back and put it in since it has the sensor there and see if it works.

also, do i have to make the car obd2 or the motor obd1? whats the deal and how?

thanks..

I'm swapping an k24de from an 97 240sx into my 91 240sx. So all i need to do is swap the intake and distributor for the swap. Correct?
