97 J30 Will Not Start!! HELP PLEASE

HI Guys
I have a J30 !71K and first off I had to adjust the Alt. top bolt came undone, when I fixed that the car started ,heard a squeeling sound ,found out my water pump failed, cracked, replaced, pulled the crank pully ,put on new water pump, connected everything, Battery went dead, so got a jump start, alarm went off I put the key in and turned to the right alarm went off, Now the car will not turn over? I put gas in ,I smell the scent of gas in the engine under the hood? any Ideas anybody? HELP Please!!!

Sounds like you didn't connect everything back together.
Is there 12v at alternator? Starter?
Does it crank?

make sure your cam position sensor is plugged back in.

Guys Thanks But I did plus in everything I forgot one thing the wire broke to the air intake temp sensor next to the engine control temp sensor.went to junk yd and replaced the wire. it does crank? but will not turn over... I got burned by taking it to a mechanic, He charged me for nothing actually for the tow $75 so kind of gun shy about a diagnostic.. and the dealer will just rape me. I was talking to another guy and he did mention about the Cam sensor ? Where do you plug it back in? it's cold today here in Indy to be working on a car.
