I was told by the transmission shop need to replace my transmission and having a hard time locating a good price transmission

any suggestions
It Would greatly be appreciated
I am a single full time father in med school in Cali
I will do the transmission swap myself to save some bucks
The car was a gift from my cousins wife after I graduate my first part of the Medical program and now I start my internship and will need a reliable vehicle.
I love the infiniti Q45 body and ride control
So I will like for this vehicle to last me at least another 5 years

Have you checked your local salvage yards?

I use www.car-part.com to do a search, then you can contact them and check condition and prices.

Where are you located?? transmission repairs first off a very tricky, most good mechanics don't even want to touch one. Update with you location and maybe someone can point you to a local person.

How does it work otherwise? If the transmission shifts normally and is strong it might be repairable. That said, generally you need to spend at least $500 to get someone to crack open a transmission and fix virtually anything.

The best solution is to obtain a Nissan factory rebuilt transmission and install an auxiliary ATF cooler with it.

Since Joe has left www.InfinitiPartsUSA.com , try calling and talking to Frank and tell him you were referred by NICO.

It will last five years easily if maintained.

God, I shouldn't say this, but my transmission at 265k is ORIGINAL and still shifts well. Leaks nothing. Never dropped pan. Just Mobil1 and some slick red every 50k.

Wow this board has so many one and done posters.....I have 103k with Royal Purple 1x and 2x running Red Line. Still silky smooth, but of course maybe this guy is still running his original dyno juice that it shipped with...we'll probably never know.

I will be doing Amsoil on my next change, I switch to Amsoil oil and fluids on all my cars and love it.
