New Here, been reading the forum as a ghost recently but decided i need to make an account. Awesome website guys. Really enjoying the FSM. Backstory:
Okay so i have a 97 Infiniti I30 with like 207k with a service engine soon that wont go away, I have been messing with this thing for 4 years now. The code is P0400 (of course) which is the EGR Flow. I have changed the EGR Valve, Solenoid, Knock Sensor and cleaned the passageway and ports 2-3 times. The light would go off long enough to get it inspected and then it would come back on solid after. Which brings us to the
now
Only thing different now is that its flashingand running real rough sometimes. It will flash and then go back to being solid, then flashing more. So I ran the OBD scanner and the computer threw two codes, P0400(egr) and P0301 (Cylinder 1 Misfire)

Alright fellas what do you think I should do/ What is in the cylinder 1?
Im thinking I might need to change the 02 sensor and the spark plugs/wires, but i thought i would ask the Nissan Braniacs.

Thanks in advance.
Joe from NC

If its just a misfire on 1 cylinder, I'd hold off on the O2 sensor for now.

First things first, I'd pull the plug and see what it looks like. It will tell you a LOT. If its black/carboned up (or wet and smells like fuel), you know you're running rich. If its white, you're too lean. That would indicate a bad injector.
If you could take a picture of it and post it up, that would help too.

Welcome to NICO!
