97 I30 door buzzer

Door buzzer (ding ding or whatever) does not come on when the key is left in the ignition or the lights are left on. Bought this car used and it came like that. My daughter has run down the battery by accident leaving the lights on. All the fused are in and good. The guy I bought it from says he dissabled the buzzer, but doesn't remember how.??? Help.

Do all the door switches work? If your driver door switch is bad, it won't trigger the headlight warning because the car won't know the door is open. But that also means the dome light won't come on when the door is opened.

MOD, similar question kind of. my bell dings with keys, and lights. BUT when I open my doors, my courtesy lights in the doors dont come on(the rear dome light does though)....any idea as to what?

::EDIT:: to the op, IIRC the control module for the bell is located mounted to the top side of the driver side knee bolster. If you unplug it, the bell wont sound. I would check that, if you can find the problem. it may be unplugged
