97 hardbody alternator fuse?

Hey guys, just got done swapping the alternator on my dad's hardbody (with a ka24e) and it is not charging.

The old alternator for sure was bad, it was grinding when you spun it. He said before it went bad he saw a puff of smoke from under the hood.

There are no interior lights or brake lights (headlights work) I cant find any fuses that even relate to the alternator, under the hood there is only a small block with a few relays, and the fuse block in the driver side compartment checks out. There are 4 relays above those fuses, but there is no label on what they are.

What cold have blown? Where should I start? Thanks for the help.
