97 hardbody 2wd conversion to 4wd

i have a 97 hardbody 2.4L 4 cylinder it is currently 2wd how hard and is it even possible to convert the 2wd to 4wd if its possible i wanna do a solid axle on the front to if anyone can help me on this it would be great thanx.

A solid axle swap up front would, I think, make it an easier proposition than if you were to go IFS (and SAS is just plain better for off-road). The 4wd leaf spring perches are also different, and a spring-over with 2wd leafs will be alot of lift. I don't know too much about this topic other than it has been asked before, and also done before. I might be missing something here, and DesertRat is the foremost D21/D22 off-roader here, so he will probably respond, too.
