Took the Q to the dealership today to see a Mr. Mark Carson - Assistant Service Manager... gave him the vin expecting to recieve a service record report and what..... even to his surprise There was NONE

now when i bought the car from the lady in Iowa she gave a big yellow dealer record book with unfortunantly ended @ 71k miles

now I know I know now after joinging this site that the #1 priority when searching for a car should of been up-to-date service records ect...

but now im stuck and upset what can I do to retrieve those detailed records????????

Mr. Carson told me that sfter so many years of not bringing the car to the dealership infiniti will drop the service records/car form thier computerson another note====anyways I trotted over to parts to check how much they were stinging fy33 customers for the suspension parts I ordered from joe and just have to say Thank you for infinitipartsusa.com as I am a permanent customer. I also got this diagram for the front suspension Im sure you've seen it beforehere it is for fun I guessthose circled parts by the way are the parts that the service department said I should change to improve my suspension I smiled and said yes yes good good.... but I got the list from you guys dont worry bushings, bearings, end links, ect...HEHE

Ask Joe, there is a chance he'll be able to help you w/ the service records.

Infiniti merely archives them, so it might take a day or two for the Service Manager to get them from CA. If you have all records up to 71K, then not much else may be gleaned unless it has seen a dealer since then.

well let me see if I can explained this... As I go about replacing suspension parts I came to notice that my driver side strut mount the (new) one is totally diffrent from the strut mount meant for my 97 q45 internally.... I dont know if its from a first generation or from a q45t ect...here's a pic of the correct oem one:

here's a pic of the replacement -not by me hence the need for records(new)one:

I know you cant see the diffrence really but the replaced one has an inside full of rubber from top to bottom unlike the oem which has a grove which I can run my finger long the inside? I dont know if its a good descriptionthe grove is by the rust on the picture as the other has no grove at all what you see is what you touch

I'd replace both anyway, so records not needed here.

When I replaced the suspension in my 00, many parts were slightly different.

Parts do change. Ordering the original part # from the dealer 7 years later does not mean it will be identical in looks....but it will in function.

Springs do need to be compressed for replacing the cartridges.
