haven't found a direct answer to this yet. I have a 97 d21 4x4 that im rebuilding as a daily driver. we do have an emissions check for obd2 vehicles here in nh. my exhaust front pipe and intermediate pipe have rotted away so they both need replacing. my question is I was given a pace setter header for the k24 and it does not have the egr tube bung on it. I have read various articles about putting a resistor in line with the egr temp sensor and delete all the egr crap and it wont throw a cel.. has anyone done this with a obd2 ka and passed an emissions test?????

everything I read and continue to read all say yes to no cel when putting the resistor on the temp sensor and removing the egr system. im going to go ahead and start hitting the mani studs with pb blaster for the week and this coming weekend or the weekend after that remove the mani and whats left of front pipe and replace it with the pace setter header that was given to me.

You can always add a bung for the EGR as a plan B if your plan A doesn't work.

the header originally had the egr bung but it was cut off and welded shut so id have to find someone that could grind it down and add it in and as you know the egr pipe doesn't move much so it would have to be pretty much a perfect job. I don't know how to weld unfortunately but now that I have the room I plan on learning

well with a little pb blaster and time and a lot of luck I was able to not only remove my exhaust manifold but I didn't strip or break a single stud or bolt.. egr pipe came off with no issues either so now I have all options to work with and aren't limited to one or the other
