Are your brake lights working? The car I believe has an interlock on the shifter that runs off of the brake light switch. Basically if you don't put your foot on the brakes, it won't let you shift the car out of park. If you get lazy and just want to drive the car for now, remove the center console and look for the piece that is not letting it shift. I can't really explain to y ou what it looks like.

What kind of car is it????? I had my 92 Q45 not move out of Park either unless you pushed the little switch. Turned out to be the same fuse that is for the brakelights. Replaced the fuse and than it worked like a champ. Also, you have a sensor in the brake pedal that releases the transmission, but check your fuses first.

yup, most likey is the neutral safety switch, the sensor that everyone just talked about. OR your transmission is stuck.
