i have a 97 240SX and i am about to purchase my R33 clip. i have read the "8 steps to starting your RB" over and over espically because i remember opensource swearing at the wiring on AIM many nights while he was doing it ;) but he could not answer this and i have seen nobody touch on the subject.

is there any thing that is diffrent for wiring the r33 rb25 into a 97-98 OBDII 240sx?

and this is more for the mckinney/UH people.

i know you require a stock harness and the RB harness for wiring the new one, will the harness off a KA24E work? im gonna need to keep all my 97 engine components because i MAY have to swap the motor back to my KA for emissions.

oh sh*t, one thing i forgot. alot of people talk about having a custom driveshaft made and such, did you need to use any parts from the KA/RB driveshaft? do they just cut the splines into the new shaft? if so, what is the spline count on a s14 differental and RB transmission :)

ok im done with the questions for now. i promise. :D

true wiring will be alot more work. i got to see the 95-96 s14 and r33 wiring happen. and he worked on it forever. but UH can do the harness for you. not sure how much tho. you should just get a extra harness to do it with. and i don't like the idea of a bunch of harnesses in my car. just kinda ghetto.

Oh and about the wiring, if i have to source another 97/98 harness then send it to UH. thats gonna run about 700-900$ for everything. thats alot of damn money for just wiring. there arent that many wires that need work! i think im just gonna wire it myself.

you need both harness as you need to extract the wipers, maf and other wires from the KA harness and install them into the RB harness and rewire the body plug to work...Labor for rewire is 89-93 $350 and 94-97 $400 if you send both un cut harnesses..

Hey Mack does your wiring service allow us to use the stock gauge cluster or does it incorporate the skyline gauge cluster. And was also wondering how long would it take to do the wiring if sent to you guys.

Thanks

Mack, im confused lol

350$ if i send you a 89 harness and the RB harness, and everything will be plug and play in my 97?

or do i have to send my 97 harness in?

i need to keep my OBDII harness in tact just in case i have to swap for emissions.

The donor harness needs to be from the SAME year car as the motor is going into. There are different procedures for early and late 240's (89-93 then 94-98) also differances in all the s14 harnesses in some areas. We use the stock 240 dash and adapters to convert the signals to work, Speedo is $140 for the box and it works good. Tack still working out the bugs should be done soon..Time depends on how many harness I have to do when yours gets here. Usually about two to three weeks.Kamin on S-14 I need a donor harness to get wiper system and other wires for the blending process, If you can't supply one Or get one from junk yard I can do the blending...
