97 240sx : weird noise and sputter with sr

took my car to import intelligence for a gasket change.... i also had my power steering belt tightened because it was squeeling a little during cold starts... :note: when my turbo gasket was changed my coolant system was drained and refilled. so when i start out the car i feel resistance on the car... the turbo is spooling smooth but i feel a slight rumble and lack of smoothness in the handling. the car has the slight ability to run smooth but its getting annoying,, i think its the power steering causing this sputter noise and almost sounds like a knocking at times. when i was driving around a slight curve to the left, the car was perfectly smooth. i tested this numerous times and whe i turn the wheel left, the engine feels smooth as butter any ideas? i tried loosening the belt and that lessened the risistance a little but its still there. i dont want to loosen much more for fear of having the belt too loose... ill try anything thoughany ideas?thanks

the car feels like it has a little resistane that i can feel in the steering wheel and the floor. i feel vibrations and its like a slight sputtering noise. when i drive and tur left, the vibrations and noises go away

Dude I dont know. I can not picture what it is you might be talking about. I think maybe your trying to say resinance rather then resistance? If you are then I am thinking maybe some point of your exhaust is making contact with the coloum, or even a sheild mounted to the floor pan near the sterring coloum is contacting something?

well my downpipe was taken off so i thought it might be contacting something... but i was sayin resistance... i feel like something is preventing the car from running smoothly..... like something is keeping the revs from going up smoothly... i am reseting the ecu tonight and ill drive the car tomorrow... hopefully that might help

i reset the ecu and the car seems to go a little smoother but when i start the car, it feels like a harsh start-up and still, when i go straight or start turning right, it sucks and i hear like a whining noise. almost like the transmission or something but why would it go away when turning left? do i need a new belt or is my power steering bad? all my fluid levels are good too and topped off

take a look at your brakes, and look at your suspension, see if it might be rubbing a tire or something. Gotta do that check on the ground, not on stands.

well sound does travel. all it was a hanger to my exhaust wasnt connected and the piping was hitting my rear differential and the sound traveled to my trans. thanks for the help
