Recently I had my 97 240s transmission go out, lost 5th and reverse. I was just wondering what the cheapest way out is. Should i just go with another used transmission and if so can i use any year or do i have to stick with just the 97-98. I heard there was something different about the sensors in the older transmissions. Or is it easy just to rebuild? Any advice or opinions would be helpful. Thanks

Wow! someone else in colorado! I think your cheapest option would be finding a used transmission. Correct me if i'm wrong but any s14 will work. Good luck. I havent been able to find many, if any parts for mine locally.

Any transmission from a 89-98 240sx will work. The deal with using a S13 transmission in a S14 is the fact that you will need to swap the bellhousing.
