looking at a '97 240sx se. it has a moonroof and my head is constantly in contact with the headliner/roof.

does any know of any fixes????will replacing stock seat with recaro, momo or other aftermarket seat that is "shorter" provide more headroom???can you bolt seat directly to the floor (remove rails)??can you install "shorter" rails from another model???

PLEASE, any suggestions are appreciated. love the car's handling and tunablility but don't won't to be annoyed by hitting my head on the roof all the time:mad:

thx!

I'll trade you my 96 base model with no sunroof for your 97 se with a sunroof. I'm short and have no problems with that sunroof :pface

Cut a hole in the roof where your head touches it... and install a fish bowl upside down. Then just stick your head up into there.

Sorry.... anyway, my experience with aftermarket seats is that they generally sit higher than stock (might be because the angle of the back support is closer to 90 degrees). Although... you would have an easier time custom fitting an aftermarket seat than you would have with trying to make the stock seat shorter.

Man... you must be a freakin' giant... my buddy is 6' 5" and fits with just a little bit of headroom.

Cool, the only problem is that I'm 5'10-5'11 with a 6.5-8in. afro. I guess my hair will have to be in braids on the days that I drive it. I could still drive the Maxima on the other days. The fish bowl idea might work for my hair. LOL!

you guys are too damn funny!!! should all be freaking stand-ups!!! just kidding.....i don't think i could refuse a little bit of whoppin' on someone with such a odd question!

anyway, thanks maineimport, i was wondering about aftermarket seats in general and your input helps.

i'm 5'11". i had a '99 prelude sh before the "boat" i pilot now ('02 altima 3.5 se) and had the same problem with the prelude too. don't get it......move seat back then too far from wheel and STILL touching headliner.....recline more and not comfortable and visibility is ****ty.

actually now that i think about it i do have shorter legs so my upper torso must be "taller" than most 5'11" people who have a more normal distribution between legs and upper torso.

so if no one has any other ideas or suggestions i guess i'm screwed unless i want to take extreme measures such as going under the knife, etc.?!?!?!?!?

how about bolting seat directly to floor pan? anyone done that?how about different rails or cutting/modifying stock rails?? anyone done that???

need some good ideas quick or instead of the 240sx/phase 1 turbo, i'm going to have to plop down the 35k on the g35 coupe i test drove today..........:ylsuper

thx again,ryan
