I recently took my car to autozone for them to read the ECU after the service engine light came on. Two codes came up. One was for the O2 and the other for the Knock sensor. From what im hearing, The knock sensor code may be a result of a faulty oxygen sensor. Im also thinking that the 97 240sx's have 2 o2 sensors. How would I know which one to replace?

ThankyouTim

Ok so 1 minute after I posted this thread, I found the answer on an autozone page after searching in google.

http://www.autozone.com/az/cds...s.htm

That explains how to test the o2 sensor and what to look for.... sorry for wasting your time.

If you dont have an FSM, buy one now. The O2 sensors act as a potentiometer of sorts, the voltage on the O2 sensors fluctuates with the reading. This voltage is what tells the ECU how much O2 is in the system. If you measure the voltage coming from the O2 sensor and compare your findings with the FSM, you can determine whether or not the sensor is in spec. Do this with the voltage setting, NOT the ohm setting. Measuring voltage doesnt hurt it, but sending voltage may.
