97 240sx - 2JZGTE Swap!

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Supra motors ftw. I was thinking about going 7MGTE in my coupe when my buddy said he was gonna drop a 2JZ into his MKIII. Anyways, lemme get that KA off your hands, I'll even pick it up !!

I'm a bit new to the 2JZ swap research and I'm real interested in doin this down the road...

What transmission did you use?

How was the fabrication with the motor mounts and the fitments within the bay?

That's pretty dope. My buddy wants to swap one into a Tacoma pickup. That s14 is the same color as mine. Everyone thinks it's some kind of custom color, and they don't believe when I tell them that it's oem.

Sorry for the delay on posting more pictures, We finished the swap a few weeks back. The car runs GREAT. This car is a beast. The only problems we had was the car running a little hot. We upgraded to a Koyo radiator for a SR20DEt and modified it to work with the 2JZ hose configuration and things seemed to be better. The car has full working AC however the customer has reported a overheating problem when the AC is running. We are looking into some fixes for this problem but with winter on us we have a little time to figure it out. Besides these few problems everything is totally awesome.

This swap was a challenge and a blast. We were scared at first and during alot of the swap but in the end it was great and we cannot wait to do the next one. I thank everyone here on the forum for your great comments and support and I want to say thank you to all the moderators for allowing us to share this with all the forum members.

This is a pretty tough swap but its well worth it. I had my doubts about it at first but after seeing the power the torque and the dyno runs... I must say it is well worth it.

We used the R154 Transmission...

We purchased a mount kit from another Fab company. It worked perfect.....

The fitment of this motor is very very tight. However once it is in the car it looks like it was made to be in that 240 engine bay.

I know the watermarks are a pain in the A$$. I am sorry for that. It's just we have had a lot of people taking our pictures and posting them as their own lately.

Thanks for the understanding....

That would be a crazy swap and fast b/c that truck can be pretty light depending on the model.

there is two simpel thing about 1/2jz swap that ALL shop's lie about :

1: the mounts...just meachin the STOCK supfram and put MKIII supra engnie mounts

2- wirirng :

this car and many other 2jz 240's done the wiring by ''DR.TWEAK'' he is a member here and you can talk to him via his site :

phonixtunning.com

and no one say ''talk to the 2jzswap.com guys and they will hook you up''

they will machine the supframe and install MKIII supra mounts and they will send the harness (240 & 1/2jz) to dr.tweak

good jop on installing every thing...it's just like intsalling a turbo to the ka engine....

yes it's that easy....(i've helped swaping 2jz in S13 & S14 in my friend shop usuing the MKIII mounts and dr.twaek harness)...

and for pic's on the mounts...go to FA and search ''2jz swap'' and you will see what i'm talking about...

Regards,

Ali

for anyone who's interested in doing this swap.

give Southern Car Customs a call in Savannah , GA

they took care of mine as you can see. did a great job!!! couldn't have possibly picked a better place to get the project done.

George is really awesome and will totally take care of you.

their number is (912) 961-9222 . ask for George

figure i live in NY..and they're in GA.. definitely worth the trip. also distance isnt a problem when you can ship it for almost a $1/mile

good luck to anyone undergoing the swap!!

Nice swap, what power did it make? I'm going to do a 2jz if I get my motorset sold. One thing though... clean up that engine bay. Wires and vacuum lines
