97-2000 pathfinder fog lights

I was in NYC the other day and saw a 97 pathinder le with OEM fog lights located under the amber turn signals in this picture. I have never seen a pathfinder with OEM fog lights located there, and I was wondering if they were optional or something?

How did you know they were OEM? Did they look at lot like the later R50 (1999.5 - 2004) fog lights?

They fit perfectly in the hole, and were the exact same shape.

my '98 Pathfinder SE had them. they were OEM.

My '98 LE has them in the same spot as the one in the picture.

This pathfinder had 4 fog lights. Two as shown in the picture, and one under each amber light.
