Doesn't it seem a bit like playing with fire? There has to be a breaking point (figuratively and literally).
not flaming you by any means...
Hey,srd99 wrote:Hi,
I have a 99 Nissan Pathfinder that Nissan that has been at the dealership now for almost 3 weeks for the Strut Housing Corrosion. Since no one at the dealership has contacted I contacted them to find out that my car is "non repairable" and that Nissan is willing to buy back the car at Kelly Blue book value.. (What the heck!!). They gave me the number to the corporation and they advised they will give me blue book value. So basically, I go in for a recall and now they are holding my car hostage. If I decide to get my car I need to sign a waiver.
If anyone is having this issue I would greatly appreciate any update of what you had to do. The corporation advised I Worley will buy back the car. How can the expect people to take this offer in this company. I checked if their is a class action lawsuit but I have found nothing yet. Any information will be great..
Thanks
Have they deemed your car unrepairable yet? If so, you should be contacted by Morley not Nissan. I waited two weeks before contacting morley. At that point it took them another 2 weeks to get back to me. If your vehicle has been deemed unrepairable, you should have received a case number and phone number from the dealership.bailey7593 wrote:Ok, I have been on this forum few times and I have learned a lot but need more info. I have been waiting for Nissan to call me. That is what the dealership told me. It seems like some of you called and some of you did get a phone call from Nissan. Do I wait to hear from them?? It has only been two weeks since I have been in my rental. Thank God it is a SUV because I am in Western Massachusetts with our early winter. Just got my power back after 3 days without so I am one of the lucky ones.
Have the dealer do it.yngw13 wrote:Hey dudes...I just checked the driver side wheel wells on my 01 pathy and find no corrosion.
Should I just do my own DIY undercoating to winterize? I was planning to buy some in Autozone later...and apply if after doing a semi power wash. Called my local dealership here in VA and I didnt have my VIN on hand so I didnt get an appt.

Print page 9 of this PDF and bring it to your dealer. It clearly states that both the driver side and passenger side should receive an undercoating if there is little to no rust on both sides.yngw13 wrote:gah...talked to "Harold" of Sheehy Nissan Manassas and he said they wont winterize or do coating if there is no "level 1" damage/corrosion. I remember the other thread where "Morpheus" (mechanic? and OP) said "no hole no problem" . So I guess no preventative action will be done on mine then. I will have to DIY this undercoating. I might do the back wheel wells if it goes as smoothly with spraying. Id hate to take the wheels off so ill just wing it with spray covers.
Ok thanks so much for the heads up!Towncivilian wrote:Print page 9 of this PDF and bring it to your dealer. However, if you are in a "southern" state, if the dealer finds little to no rust, you won't get an undercoating. There is a different campaign ID for the southern states, R1108 I believe.
I am helping my boyfriend who has been a long time owner of a 96 Pathfinder. He was Just contacted by Morley who wants to buy him out. His Pathfinder has been the love of his life ! He had no intention (or means) to replace it . I am concerned that they will offer him low KBB value - 300,000 miles . But It is a good runner and he planned on it running for years to come. He needs a reliable truck for work. Looking for advice on this and what to expect. I have not seen many posts from 96-97 Pathfinders.ashish1971 wrote:I finally got everything settled today with Morley after one and half months. I had 97 pathfinder with almost 149k which deemed unrepairable. I was offered 5300 (excellent book value + $1000). I got my check today and I am completely satisfied. Not bad for 14 year old car.
