4330 is what ann and I settled on. Not to shabby for my investment :)

Offered me good. Then excellent and then $600 to complete the deal today.

Interesting. I had the exact same experience. Also spoke with an "ann". Extension 2262?

I have a 99 pathfinder with 123000 miles the only thing i have done to it is tires and brakes.I planned on using it till the wheels fell off.I use it to drive to work in the winter only and to haul wood with my trailors sometimes.I have put a tow package and a very good remote starter on it.They cannot fix mine so i have been going back and forth with morley (erica), the most they will give me is 6555 that is crap toyota bought back the tundras for 150% of kbb they tried to tell me that was different no its not they cant fix the truck so they bought it back for more than nissan is willing to do, why cant nissan do the same guess they dont care about the customers as much.Something to think about before you buy yopur next nissan. Now i have to try to find another vehicle and i live in a small town without much choice so i am going to have to travel around to find something a total waste of my time i should not be having to do and the best they can do is 6555 you go try to buy a vehicle the same off a lot and they will charge you 9000 for it.If thats how nissan is going to handle things then i myself will never own another nissan as long as i live and i know there will be a lot more people that wont.I hope some of you have better luck than me.this all one big hassle i should not be having to go through in the first place.Guess maybe the japanese cars cant stay on the road as long as the old dodges, fords and chevys.

It's too bad that some of you guys are losing an old, reliable ride. Nissan put this recall out because of safety concerns and wanting to avoid lawsuits. BUT. If you wanna avoid the possibility of losing your ride. Just ignore the recall. They can't take from you what they cannot deem unrepairable.

Take a look for yourselves instead of blindly marching to the dealers and letting them make a decision for you. I was lucky that mine was a level 2 on the driver side and a level one(free undercoating) on the passenger side.

By the way. They also told me that my trailing arms were rusted out during their complimentary 21 pt. check up and needed to be replaced to pass state inspection. Not even close considering I had taken care of the bushings earlier this year. Now that is b.s.

Good luck to those looking for a replacement.

Try extension 2262 (ann). Got 7k for my 99.5. Although it was loaded. Leather, power everything including seats, running boards, sunroof etc...

Also, go to the dealer and get all the aftermarket stuff off. IE. remote starter, ball and hitch. Don't forget, its still YOUR vehicle even if it is sitting in the dealers lot, and you have total full access to it.

I just came back from taking my personal effects out of my 1997 pathfinder. I was told I could not take anything else out of the car. The dealer has been very nice to me. I mentioned that i had a remote start that was put in two to three years ago and handed them the key pads for them along with the key pads that came with my car. What do i do now?? I am waiting for my phone call from Nissan with my buy out amount.

Anyone?

Also, is it $35/flat or plus taxes? I do not want to pay a DIME to rent a vehicle. I want MY vehicle, if I can't have it, what am I going to do, but I want at least a full-size car and apparently they don't have many.

Like the Nitro, too.

Advice?
I just got a 2011 jeep Liberty with no hassle and no money from Enterprise. They said it would not cost me a dime. Nissan has the tab.

I am from Agawam, Ma. My 1997 is not repairable too. I feel like I have learned a lot from everyone here. Not happy myself but I will have my husband do the negotiations.

Demand access to your car, and get/uninstall what you want. If they refuse, threaten to call the police. They treat these vehicles like they are radioactive or something but until you sign that paper and hand over your title, IT IS STILL YOURS!

Cat is a bit excessive but I was seriously thinking about grabbing the battery out of mine, and possibly floor mats and windshield wipers (they're the really nice Bosch ones).

If I had a grille guard or hitch, you better believe I would be taking those as well. I mean they're gonna destroy these vehicles anyway...

You bring up a good point. Perhaps a second thread should be started for parting out small stuff from condemned Pathfinders and QX4s? After all, everybody here owns their Pathfinder still... obviously we can't ship running boards or roof rack rails, but why not the smaller things? I don't mean to seem insensitive to those who had their R50s taken, of course - but some parts recycled are better than none, as I'm sure everyone understands. What will happen to all the condemned R50s, ultimately?

Just got off the phone with motley. They said I can't take my battery because the vehicle has to be able to work. Does a loud exhaust make it so it doesn't work?

Doubt it, just say rust claimed parts of the exhaust! :rotflmao

I could use a rear O2 sensor if you're down there, heh...

So basically after getting pissed off this is what I've come up with. Asked if I could remove my exhaust parts. Kristen informed me I would have to recive less than excellent value. So I said okay let's open up negotiations again. She put me on hold and talked to her supervisor. Informs me that I can't remove my parts because then the vehicle wont be the same as when I received my offer. I asked what if I remove what I wanted and put in a replacement and she said no she's been advised not to let anyone remove parts. So I said well what happens if I do? Puts me on hold briefly to talk to her supervisor and then says I wont receive my check. So at that point I ask to talk to her supervisor. After a brief hold he gets on the phone asks how he was can help me and I tell him bow I need a part and that I want to remove it. No where have I seen paper work that says I can't remove my parts. And he said the vehicle has to be intact in order for Nissan to deem it a complete loss and that when the inspector comes in to check it out it will have to be intact and that if I replace what ever I take off its intact?

Well, that sucks. Technically you could probably remove inconsequential sensors and other "hidden" parts as long as they don't trigger a CEL - stuff like the ambient temperature sensor on the radiator support used for the overhead console (if equipped), or the blower motor resistor... but I don't know if that'd be worth the trouble ultimately. It'd be such a waste if these irreparable cars turn into cubes when there are so many usable parts.

I am glad I found this site. I have had my 01 pathfinder at the shop for 10 weeks now. Body shop deemed it unrepairable, but Morley said it was repairable and I just got off the phone with Nissan and they said the repair has been made and it's ready to go. The only issue I have is if the repair is actually safe? In the meantime I did find a facebook site that has been started call http://www.facebook.com/pages/Class-Act ... 412?v=info . You may want to check it out and see if it's something you want to get involved in.

I just don't know how comfortable I will be taking my pathfinder down some of the paths I use to go cut firewood and then haul a trailer of wood with it. Or take my family on ta trip in it. I haven't had any issues before, but I would of felt much better if they would of made an offer so I could get something I feel safe in.

I own a 99 Nissan Pathfinder SE with 100,270 miles (low miles) ~ low because the vehicle has sentimental value having recieved it as a 'gift' from my father who passed away in October of 1999. I treated it with TLC and put ALOT of money into it. It was (is) in excellent condition and I was offered EXCELLENT BLUE BOOK VALUE for it which is more than I could get for it if I wanted to sell it on the street.

BUT, the plan was to drive it for several more years and get me through to my retirement as a teacher (2015) at which point I would sell it for whatever I could get for it and buy a new car. I cannot afford a new car payment at the present becausee of some financial burdens that I need to eliminate in the next 3 years.....WHAT SHOULD I DO? Shopping for a replacement and purchasing someone elses mechanical problems is not the situation that I anticipated.....this has put so much stress in my life and quite frankly, I don't need it! :frown: I'm should only have to be worrying about our school levy passing and whether or not I will have a job next year as a result...NOT THIS! :ohno:

I know a mechanic that works at NISSAN here and he said my vehicle was not in bad shape and that it could be driven off the lot~that he could fix it...so what am I to do? :inout: Take the car back that I LOVE and will miss terribly, or take the money and try to buy a decent used vehicle that won't possibly replace my beloved 99 Nissan Pathfinder that means so much to me and take a chance of driving it and dying because of the strut housing unit that is supposedly rusted out?
My lawyer .......I'm still waiting to hear back from him about whether or not to accept the offer...
My Mom says to take the money and run.. :bigthumb: .....
My husband is just pissed. ............
Me? I just want a used vehicle that I feel safe in to with 4 wheel drive or MY CAR BACK IN GOOD CONDITION!~ :bs:

Hey guys....we just settled our case as well. We had a 2000 Pathfinder and 3.5 months after we dropped it off at the dealership we received our check in the mail. We ended up getting $6700 for a 2000 pathfinder SE w/ 160K miles. At the end of the day, I am happy with that. I know I would not have been able to sell that vehicle for more than $5500. The running boards had rusted off and had to be removed. The tailgate and drivers side fender were starting to rust. The vehicle was loaded (leather etc), but was just going to continue to rust. Last year I placed the exhaust (cat back) because it had rusted out.

The negotiations started at KBB good condition. When I started complaining about the condition, they stood strong that the inspector was clear it was not in excellent condition. However, when I started complaining that my wife and kids had been driving around in a vehicle that was unsafe for who knows how long, they bumped me up to excellent condition. Then I told them I had new tires on the vehicle, they asked I fax the receipt. I did, and they added the full value of the tires on top of my recent offer (parts and labor from the receipt).
Then I expressed concern that I would not be able to purchase the exact same vehicle because I would still be ion the hook for sales tax and registration. I told them I wanted $7k and I would walk away a satisfied customer and would consider buying another Nissan. That got me an extra $200 for a final offer of $6700. As I stated earlier, I am very happy with that offer, and will use it as a down payment for a new xc90 or 4runner.

We are now the proud owners of a 2012 Altima...Thank you Nissan...We settled for $6955.00, which included $1000.00 for a recently installed A/C and new tires...Plus we got Friends and Family discount as well, with 0 percent financing for 5 years..So it was a no brainer all the way around....We will miss our Pathfinder but at this stage of the game, the Altima will be just fine..Especially when it comes to the gas...we went 3 weeks before putting any gas in the rental Altima we have...Amazing....So our hats are off to Nissan as we could not have bought a car without this happening...Everyone was so nice and professional all the way around....We were so happy that things went so smoothly.....We will be delivering the rental, and picking up the new car this week....We will always stick with Nissan after this, as they couldnt have been more helpful..Thank you Nissan and Morley... :dblthumb: :bigthumb: :dblthumb: :bigthumb:

I have a Nissan 2001 Pathfinder SE 4x4 115,000 with everything in great condition except for the rust in the wheel well. I was hoping they would cash out my car because I don't like the fact my car is rusting all over and I don't feel it's safe anymore. It was an east coast car and now it's in California. I thought the rust would stop but I noticed a few months ago the whole Passenger side wheel well was rusting through. I never got a recall notice and I assume because I live in California now for 3 years. I did take the car in the dealership for rust gas tank hose replacement a year ago. Now it's going for the rust problem that wasn't there a year ago. I've noticed the rust dramatically expanding through the wheel well in less than a year. It's expanded from a penny size hole to now a football size hole. I just spoke with Morley's and Nissan Corp. Both companies will not cover damages on the passenger side wheel well" only damages on the driver's side". Since this recall only covers drivers side it's useless at this point to complaint about the rust in the wheel well. It's best to drive the car until it breaks down from rust and Nissan's will still have "the buy back program" in place since this problem will only get worst for them. Nissan Corp said it will not have an end date but they will pay for "Kelley Blue Book Private party values only". So if you're considering on keeping your car for a few years longer don't take your Pathfinder/QX4 into the dealership for repair if it has Stage 1 light rust damage. Let the problem get worst to the point it's consider unrepairable and have Nissan buy it back when you're done with it. They will fix the following: Stage 1, Stage 2 and Unrepairable here is link to Nissan Corp Doc:

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/docse ... 4-1111.pdf

I have 115k and I plan on having the car for 2 more years by then the rust hole should be large enough and unrepairable. This way you'll get the full market value for your car and a dangerous POS will be pulled of the road. That's my two cents and that's worth more than Nissan advice EVER..

kaptainkid - sounds like that would be a good idea... but haven't you considered the risk to yourself and whomever might be in the vehicle during those 2 yrs you "rust out" the truck? Doesn't it seem a bit like playing with fire? There has to be a breaking point (figuratively and literally).

not flaming you by any means... :)
