For a while i have been getting poor gas mileage and problem with poor acceleration. I've cleaned MAS and still no improvement. Finally i hooked up code reader and got a code for knock sensor bank 1. I've searched for a writeup on replacement of knock sensors but only found one for a 97y33. Is the process basically the same or is there another writeup for the G50. What other parts besides the knock sensors and harness should i change?

Thanks in advance.

To get to the knock sensors, you pretty much have to remove the plenum, which opens another can of worms, because you'll probably have to destroy some hoses that are brittle from heat and age. Big job. Here's a writeup from an earlier thread:

zerothread?id=142590

You might want to consider replacing ALL the hoses while you're in there. Here's a current thread by someone who's doing it now:

Some people are sensitive and some are not.....................a few tenths even half of a second is hard to resolve................yet that would represent 30-50 HP.

Thanks for all the info. I may be starting this project next weekend depending on when i get sensors and plenum kit from joe. Looks like alot of tedious work but i'd rather do it myself .
