If I wanted to convert my 96NA to a TT of the previous years would it require a new ECU, or would the ECU adjust itself after being ran?

What im thinking is the front clip conversion, takes care of the entire front end just chop it up and put the TT on?

You will need to use another ECU. I'm guessing you will have a lot of problems with emissions and crap because 96 cars are OBDII and pre-96 are OBDI

wont a front clip convert everything minus the exhaust?
and the ECU of course but I will need a TT ECU anyway im guessing?
which in that case ill have two O2 sensors not being used and have to replace the exhaust?

thinking the front clip conversion so i dont have to deal with fabricating anything for fitment, i know some badass welders so shouldnt be an issue with that as long as we can get a clean cut after measurements

Yes you can get the car running with the front clip and maybe a few more parts here and there, but you are going to have a VIN that reads a 1996 model car and it won't be OBDII compatible. In my state the car would be impossible to register because it would never pass emissions.

You will want new exhaust anyways, NA is completely different than TT exhaust, and it's too restrictive.

You will need to use the other wiring harness from the clip (or even better, a new one) and that harness will not be set up for OBDII, which is where you might run into problems.
