that's too much money to be spending on any stock 240. it's clean, i'll admit that, but not worth 8k, not by a long shot.

have you driven it in the day? do so nad keep your emotions out of it and off your face. If they see you love the car, you won't get any deals.

Next, pay cash. $100 bills.

What is the KBB value for the car when bought from a dealer? I would put $5000 in cold cash before the salesman and see what he says.

If he says he gotta go check with his manager, take your money up and walk away. Tell him you don't wanna deal with someone who cannot make decisions.

They may stick to the 8K price but that's a bit high so bring like $6500 in cash.

They make more money if you finance it rather than pay full price up front, so they may offer you a better price if you finance it. If they offer like 6500 or 6750 financed, and you have 6500 in yer pocket, take the deal.

When you get your first bill, send the bastards a 6500 dollar check. Then pay off the rest.

If you are gonna do that, make sure there are no penalties for paying the car note off soon.

**EDIT**note, the 6500 price I use is just a guess. Whatever the FAIR price is for the car in it's condition and in your area. Also, get your personal mechanic to check it out before you buy it. Don't trust any snake in a suit and tie.

Good luck and keep us posted.

It took me 5 years to find mine. I finally got it for 5500 off ebay in North Carolina; about 4.5 years ago. So take your time.

go to the dealership without them knowing you are coming. start the car up cold and listen to it.

check the oil yourself, check the tread on the tires.Does the timing chain guide knock around?

look at it in the daylight with someone who isn't a 240 fan.

^ and ^^Agreed. I paid $4500 for mine with less miles and equal condition...granted it is an auto, but I don't think that makes up the $3500 difference. I don't know where you are located in VA, but does seem overpriced- even for a dealership. Good luck man

Mines really clean and i only paid 2500 dollars. Dealerships overprice too much. I saw an old rx-7 beat as hell and side panneling practically peeling off and they wanted 5k for it. Rotary cars lol what was i thinking

I don't believe there has ever been a dealership in the state of MS that has taken a 240 in as a trade in.

God, your lucky that you have a place that has it.

I'll put it like this. If you like the car, love the car, the color, EVERYTHING. Then get it.

But this solely depends on how well the salesman treats you.

They go about things looking at your age. And how you look at the car with googley eyes and what not.

Trust me - I've seen them work there magic because I once worked at a Nissan dealership. They'll try to squeeze every penny out of you if you look that tempted for the car.

Look calm - collective. And mention you WILL be paying cash. Practically what someone said earlier.

I have came to a conclusion that I fell in love with the car but It's clearly not worth the payments even though it's clean as **** there is another s14 for sale for $2500 around my way it has 155,000 miles,it's all stock, green in color, and its a 95' I keep emailing the guy but he only replied once if he ever takes me serious im going to take a trip down there with a mechanic and if everything works out fine im going to pay cash.

Thanks to everyone for inputting their own thoughts and helping me make a decision

Looks like im going to have to change my name to S ll 4 k ll lD lD now they are getting sexier by the minute...
