I have a 96 GLE with 183000 miles. I have not had any problems with the car until last week. I hit a curb straight on at about 30 mph.
The car stayed started but it was jumping between 250 and 500rpm. Usually is pretty stable at 750rpm. I checked everything physically I could see and everything seemed normal. I turned it off and it will start up. I cannot give it gas. It will die when I try. I can put it in Drive and it will move forward but only in idle speed.
I had it towed to a mechanic and he thought I had damaged the catylitic. But he removed it and started the car and it still idles low and he can't give it gas.
What could I have possibly jarred loose that lowers the idle and won't allow me to give it gas? Again, the car had no issues until I hit the curb.
Thank you.
