Hi, new to the forums and really could use some help find this power steering line that connects to the rack on the driver side. I’ve contacted the dealers and they say that the part is no longer made and I’ve also tried tons of junk yards in my area and no one has it.
I’ve attached the picture of the part (49541)circled on the right of the picture.
I really appreciate any help trying to fix the leak.

Have you talked to Infiniti of Scottsdale?

I recently received the following power steering hoses and gasket for my 91. Granted, some parts had to be ordered -- but all still available..

INF 49721 60U25 TUBE ASSY RETURN PO

Before I totally forget. Welcome to NICO. Where are you located? I know where two 94 models are in a salvage yard.

Just spoke with them and they don’t have and it’s discontinued.

sad that such a critical part has already been discontinued by the manufacturer.....you will have to have one custom bent by a good shop fabricator or look in junkyard for a survivor part.

:welcome: to NICO!

Is that a hard line (metal tube) or a hose with fittings on the ends? If it's a hose, a good hydraulic shop should be able to replace the rubber portion... I would start there for having a replacement hard line made if that's what you need too.

Are you anywhere near a http://www.pull-a-part.com junkyard, or something similar? If you get there before anyone tries to harvest the engine you have a good chance of getting one...

I agree, it will cost about $40-$60 to replace the rubber pressure hose by a hose/hydrolic service shop. Remove, drop-off or many will drive to you and do it on the spot.

I will try to pull the hose from the 96 model at the local salvage yard. Weather and work permitting, I'll go back this weekend.

Does the power steering rack need to be dropped to remove the hose?

If so, can be rack be dropped if the steering column is locked?

I really appreciate your time. I think the rack doesn't have to be dropped. My mechanic removed the metal hose without removing the rack.

Do these two pictures below look like the 49541 part?

Could this be 49542?

The first two look very similar. I don't recall them being very long. My brother has the car at his house in another town so I can't even check. But like I said the first two pics look very similar.

The part in the first two pictures was removed from the rack (square connection) where the dotted line goes to the 49541 part..

If you think it is the part, then PM me your email/mailing address. :)

Hello all. Long time lurker here. I have a 97 Q45 with a similar problem. Last night the line posted above (49542) blew out. This is the line that goes from the right side of the rack to the left by the steering knuckle.
After getting under the car and having a look, I am wondering how one would go about getting at the bolt on the left side of the rack? VERY tight fit.
Also, is this a high-pressure line or just a return. I hate to do a cheap bandage patch but anything I could do to make this as easy as possible. The cars got 270k on it so the less I have to put in, the better. THANKS and thanks for all the info I have read over the years:-)
