I am assuming you are talking about a 1996 q45 { even though your screen name is 98q45t} if so, the entire upper intake manifold {plenum} must be removed to get to the knock sensors.....and the jist is, there is 35+ rubber hoses under there for coolant, vacuum, and fuel carrying purposes that will be old, hard, and brittle from years of being subject to the massive heat from the engine, and as you remove the upper plenum, many seemingly OK hoses will crack and need replacement. Wise owners always purchase the entire kit and replace every single hose while plenum is off to get to the knock sensors. this is a long, tedious, back breaking job to do the knock sensors,4-6 hours easily for a first timer. The entire kit including all hoses ,knock sensors, and new electrical harness needed is slightly over $1,000 for the parts at discount......you supply the labor.
this topic is discussed many, many times on this forum, some posts with good pictures too....search "plenum" or "knock sensor replacement" and there is a wealth of info....just be sure the threads you read refer to the 90-96Q, as the job on later {1997+} q models is different.
