Based on some of the responses to my post on the 14th I need to clarify my situation.
We are at 138k miles. We have noises in the rear including some clunks, etc., when making turns from standing starts and accelerating. If babied we can turn without any noise.
The dealer's team leader who was familiar with this vintage did a test drive and thought we had rear end problems.
Prior to this we had the Slip and TCS lights coming on. Code 18(TCS operating oil pressure in actuator is abnormally decreased) was thrown and the TCS reservoir fluid was replaced with a resultant decrease in lights-on frequency. We then replaced the differential fluid with Mobil 1 and the lights stopped coming on. Since then the lights have only come on once.
I know that I need to replace the shocks and a lot of the suspension rubber(see post
zerothread/271351 ). My tires were being eaten prematurely due at least in part to bad tie rod/rack boot and I now have Michelin Primacy's 225/60R-15.
Unless you all believe that new suspension parts could clear up what's happening on turns, I still have to conclude that the rear end needs work. I look forward to more comments. Thanks.
