Hi all,

I have been told by the dealer that the speed sensor in the instument panel is bad. I can only get a new one from a local dealer  (local dealer ripoff). I have been told that I have to order a new speedometer assembly with the mileage from the old one preset, that's no big deal I understand. I pulled the old one out and have looked at it and it does not look like an easy thing to do replace or even open up the instrument cluster.

Has anyone have any experience doing this?

p.s.I bought a instrument cluster from a 94 Q45 with TCS with about 80K miles on it from ebay. My Q45 shows 78K on the odometer and does not have TCS. Is it possible to pull the speedo assembly from the one with TCS and use it in the original cluster?

I'd call Joe at Infiniti of Scottsdale (http://www.infinitipartsusa.com) and have him look up both years... he should be able to let you know if the part numbers are the same. You may be able to swap the entire cluster...

Screw the local dealer.

Install the entire new gauge assembly - you'll just have an extra light (TCS) that will never illuminate.
