My 96 Q is in for a fix for leaking valves covers. Now that it is opened up what else could I tell them to do (I have to suggest stuff before they'll fix anything not broken), that will save me money later at the 120K service. This Q has 113k miles on it. I intend to keep it to a least 175k milesThanks Alexander

Mere outpatient surgery The only real overlap is changing spark plugs and cleaning the throttle body. Maybe you could have them replace the PCV valve... that's about it.

ask them to let you go in to the bay long enough to snap some digpix with the vc's off. or at least to take the shots for you, showing the chain/sprocket area, and the cams and followers. that will be definitive evidence of how clean/ or not your engine is. not to mention i'm curious if the intake cam VVT sprocket is present on '96, even though you don't have the solenoids.

pcv on the VH45DE is plenty accessible with vc's on, but wouldn't hurt. maybe your O2's if they've never been done (slightly more accessible), especially since you are OBD-II.
