I am about to have the knock sensors and all they related and unrelated hoses replaced in my '96 Q. Let's see if that KS code is real or just a ECU guess.Should I have the injectors replaced as well at the same time? Or is that overkill, only 138k miles. No problems with the injectors, yet,, but if they working on the 'prostate' should I have them go deeper in and replace the aging polyps.?

Well if you want to go go back under soon then no, I don't know if you have E10 in your area, But that kill injectors.

But if you want to go back in at least 6 years maybe more I would invest in the BWD injectors that suposidly stand up to E1 and E85 (Not that the Q45 can run on E85 though).

Either way though you should be good for a while.

Good luck and Happy new Year, Paul

Have you ohm tested the knock sensors or are they being replaced because of a stored ECU code? I would highly recommend that you invest 10 minutes and personally ohm test your knock sensors and fuel injectors. If you don't own a voltmeter spend $15 and buy one. A bad KS (or two) is not causing the problems you have described in your other posts.

Just my opinion Alexander, and I've been following your posts since the beginning, but you are being fleeced by the stealership. You've spent at least $10,000 at stealership prices and your Q still doesn't run right. As far as I can tell it hasn't run right since the last time they gave it back to you (a few months ago?) after you dropped $5000 into their coffers. If you're convinced that your Q needs KS, FI and hoses then save yourself a ton of $$ and have it flatbedded 500 miles to Jerry Tucker in San Diego. When you get it back it will be running properly for much less than your getting ready to pay.

Please ohm your KS and FI and get back to us with the readings.

Knock Sensors were ohm'ed a few months ago and they came out OK.Recent drive test by senior Q tech had the KS codes pop up.And your opinion about the KS's is also the opinion of a different Infiniti service mgr. Might be the sensor's or, just might not be.Maybe a trip to San Diego to Jerry's might just me in order. Don't need to flat bed it. It runs fine expect for the acceleration issues. Thanks for the advice.I've put many Infiniti Marin CA kids ithrough private school or at least paid for their iPods ,and that is 20k per kid for highschool with this Q, with few results.NO Q LEFT BEHIND my A...s

Take it to Jerry and enjoy the scenery.

He could have restored it to 100% for what you have spent.

Do they still maintain Jerry Tucker on the shop name since Jerry retired a couple of years ago?

Are yours the purple body injectors or the tan ones? Have you tried running some BG 44K or redline thru them?

I don't think that web site has been changed in the last two years.
