I have a 96 Nissan Maxima. It's a standard trans, V6. I don't know TOO much about cars, so bare with me here. It has a starting problem. In the morning when i first start it up, it wil take easily 3-4 mins to start it up. It's not a starter problem [new one just put in, and it's not that type of noise]. It sounds like the car will start but never turns all the way over i guess is the only way i can explain it. Sometimes it does backfire when i`m trying to start it. It was hooked up to a computer and the code for a spark knock sensor popped up. I have been reading online, and it doesn't look like that would be the problem... could it be the fuel pump?? The fuel filter was just changed 2-3 months ago. IDK what else to say, other than I REALLY want to fix it, and fix the right thing the first time. :-(

It would not be the knock sensor causing the issue. It could be a fuel pressure issue.

FPR= fuel pressure regulator....they are fairly notorious for failing on our cars
