HI all, im new to nico club. I hope to stay.

Anyways my truck has been acting weird lately. Upon starting my truck up and going to drive away it will hunt then try and stall but if i let off the gas then go to take off again it usually clears itself up and i wont have this trouble until i start it up again. Im getting a oxygen sensor code and an egr code. I checked the oxygen sensor with a scan tool and watched the values while giving it gas in neutral and they stayed within the same eventually leveling off around .450 of a volt. It also was throwing a bad heater code in the oxygen sensor. Are there any rubbing points where the oxygen sensor could be having a short or is it probably just time for a new set of oxygen sensors? There are currently bosch ones in my truck.

2. On my truck i had to replace the gauge cluster due to the odometer not working anymore. I replaced it with another standard cluster without a tach, however the more i drive my truck the more i would like a tach. On the new cluster the water temp sensor has been sticking and moving wildly, is this a bad ground somewhere or is it a bad gauge? Also would a cluster with a tach plug into my se w/o a tach wiring harness?

As of now im not to worried about the gauge situation but i would like to get an idea on what to do with that hunting issue. Anyways here my truck, older pictures but nothings really changed besides i redid the rocker guards, cleaned it(i would hope so after a year+ lol), and put a set of bucket seats. I need to get after some rust underneath my box but otherwise shes pretty clean. its got 81k miles

Thanks for all the help,
Dakota

Welcome to NICO and that's a great looking truck. I have a 2wd single cab in the same green as yours. About your hunting...It really sounds more like you could have a vacuum leak somewhere and based on the age of your truck I would count on finding some leaks of that kind. Have you checked for cracked hoses? And a malfunctioning EGR could cause the symptoms you described.

Thanks, and to be totally honest a vacuum line issue totally shot right over my head. Ill definitely have to take a look at the lines when i get home, depending on what things look like during next week ill hook my truck up to my auto shops modis to check egr operation. Could the vacuum leaks be causing the 02 sensor to throw a circuit malfunction?

If the leak is bad enough I would say yes.

Well I must have had a plugged injector or something. No codes or anything anymore. My alternator went, and I fixed that today. It does bring up a question, the belt advanced auto recommends is too long. The other one they have is too short. What belt do you run for the alternator belt?

Gates belt catalog says it should be a part #7355 which Advanced should be able to cross reference to something they have hanging on the wall.
