Hello! I am new to this forum and new to Z32's altogether. Been into muscle most of my life but I decided to switch it up! So I have fallen in love with my 300ZX :naughty: and I eventually want to pull more power with a TT engine swap; however, I don't have the funds on hand right now. I have been frying my brain going through threads from WAYYYY back trying to figure out if there are any universal parts I can add to my NA now that will work out on the TT later so I can save some $$ while upgrading what I have now. Can anyone please help me out with this????????

Thanks!
Amanda

I'll post pictures of my girl once I figure out how to do so!

everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-z32-t508376.html that'll get you started and then some. Sadly seeing as you have a 96 you may be screwed for swaps since since there were very few OBD2 TTs and there aren't many tuners or available aftermarket options for the 96 short of full standalone. An OBD1 conversion could be done but then you may run into trouble with emissions testing (plus converting OBD2 vehicles to OBD1 is illegal as far as the EPA and NHTSA are concerned). Don't lose hope, all is not lost, you will just have to deal with a few hardships that most of us don't have. In a nutshell the only things that would be NA specific mods (assuming you will be keeping the shell, drivetrain, suspension, etc) are headers, injectors, ecu, testpipes/cats. Everything else can be swapped to a TT. Keep in mind that the radiator, AC condenser, and some of the PS and AC lines are NA or TT specific.

Single cone intake. Should be able to do an underdrive pulley. Lightweight TT flywheel and upgraded clutch. You'll need the starter shim to work with the NA transmission and TT flywheel. Could go ahead and do a catback although I don't know how much performance that will bring you.

But yea, the 96 is a less than ideal platform if you're wanting to go non-stock.
