I bought the car 2months ago and Im starting to feel the engine 'struggle' at points in the rpm range. It still accelerates but looses some power at the struggling points. I have been using 87octane since I got it, last time I filled up I put in 91 and a fuel system cleaner hoping it might work.

Check the spark plugs and MAF sensor among many other things.

Any Check Engine Light codes?

No CEL. After a week of driving, I got better mpg with the fuel system cleaner, but no fix to the problem. Tomorrow I'm gonna check everything I can in the engine for general maintenance.

As with Paul, start by cleaning the MAF sensor thoroughly. A zero-reside Contact Cleaner or CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner (@ $8 from Autozone) should work. Also check the entire air intake - replace air filter as required; clean the throttle body (use rag and never spray directly into the valve assembly) and check vacuum and PCV tubes/fittings.

Have a free OBD scan for 'ghost code.' A faulty Knock Sensor can cause acceleration issues (due to ignition retard) and store a trouble code but will not turn on the CEL.
