Welcome to NICO!

Is you check engine light on? Have you pulled any codes recently? Other things you could check would be your MAF, and injectors.

Sounds like you could have one or more injectors stuck open.

Check this thread for how to retrieve any codes that may be stored.zerothread?id=56283

An injector squirts the gas into the cylinder in pulses. When it's stuck open, it will dump fuel into the cylinder constantly. When it's stuck closed, it will starve the cylinder for gas. I've never had it happen to me, but I would think that you would get raw gas out the tail pipe if it were stuck open.

You can't really fix the injector, you have to replace them.

The reason I suggested checking for codes, is that you should be getting some sort of code from running that rich.

very rarely do injectors get stuck completely open, they genearlly just get lazy and do not close all the way when an excessive rich condition ispresent...

Anyway, you could do a power balance test to tell which injectors are bad or if oyu have a digital multimeter youcould measure the resistance of each one... They probably should be around 12 ohms, but thats just a guess without looking at the FSM.

Right on it Wes, resistance should be between 10-14 ohms.

Definitely follow the instructions here to retrieve the codes stored in your car's computer (every time the check engine light comes on it stores a code). Then check this thread to find out what the CEL (check engine light) codes mean. It could mean the difference between replacing 3 injectors as opposed to all 6. Bank 1 indicates the side closest to the fire wall and bank 2 is closest to the radiator. With the conditions you have, I would expect you to have a 0114 or 0209 CEL Flash Code. You may even have specific cylinder misfire codes which will narrow down your problem even further.

When you replace your fuel injector/s it would also be a good idea to clean your fuel rails and replace your fuel filter. Just my $.02
