96 maxima sunroof won't close
96 maxima sunroof won't close
i just opened my sunroof and wouldn't close. i had my car a month now and never opened it and was bored and decided to open it. i had to close it manually. it opens but wouldn't close. does anyone know what could be wrong with it?

the actual over head switch may be bad. IDK though this has never happened to me

The same motor does all the sunroof functions, so if there's a problem with just one function the switch is probably to blame. I'd see if you can find a junkyard switch to try in the car.

i dont know...when i opened it i heard a small clang sound when it stopped and when i tried to close it it wouldn't. the motor would still go too. i got it closed manually but still has a gap cuz it does go up to seal the roof off. i hope it doesn't snow again or else i might have to shove a plastic bag or something in there.....uuggghhhhh!!! im so mad!!! it has fresh grease in the tracks though...i think it was serviced recently.
