my 96 Maxima was starting to stall everytime I stop on a stop sign or I run on slow speed, so I went to bodyshop and their machine said that it was mass air flow something, so they cleaned the tubes and it worked alright for a weeek, but my car stopped on road again today afternoon.

so I went to that bodyshop again and this time, the machine indicated 000000 which means no problem.

the owner of the bodyshop told me to bring it next time when the 'check engine' signis on so the machine can figure out the problem.

when I was about to leave the bodyshop, the engine didn't turn on, so i had to get jump cables to start the engine, owner also told me that the starter has some problem too.

what I'm guessing is it's either throttle body or O2 sensor.I know it can happen when throttle body is off or whateverbut I'm not sure what's the "sympton" for O2 sensor problem

seriously, I don't know what to do now.

Is your battery light coming on? It sounds to me like you may have a faulty alternator.

Check your PCV valve, when I was 16 I had an old Buick that you had to shift into neutral every time you stopped, or it would stall. 6 months later I figured out it was the PCV valve.

my personal opinion is that it is either the IAC right below the throttle body and it has gotten some coolant in there and that is what is causing your car to die at idle, which it could also lead to another problem if you did get coolant in there i have seen some cars burn up the ecm. one way to check this is to remove the intake and pull off the throttle body, and make sure that the engine is either cold or somewhere close to it. there are two screws on the bottom holding the the sensor. remove it and look to see if you see any white specs, if you do there is your problem, replace the IAC.
