96 Maxima GLE Transmission Problems?

Hey,

I have a 96 Maxima GLE Automatic just recently i noticed that when im driving once and a while it will jump between 2nd and 3rd gear for a second before going into gear. Its got a full cattman exhaust on it and is throwing a cel for a knock sensor but other than that drive normal. it seems like a transmission to me but just hoping maybe it could be something else any help would be appreciated. thanks

might help to know the service history.what does the white paper towel test tell you?

12 years is good life for a FWD AT. A KS code will select a emergency lower ignition advance curve which can make for sluggish acceleration and shifting. Fix known problems first.
