Hello guys

my 96max runs litle bit loud, what can i do to make the engine quiet? i am gonig to change oil, replace fuel and air filter will these alone help with the noise? note k&n filter for air and nissan fuel filter, and for oil shall i go with 5w30or 10w30? the car has 54k on new engine.

Use 10W30 for the oil.

I'm not really sure what you mean by the making the engine quiet. What kind of noise is it making?

Personally I run an AEM dryflow air filter, no need to oil and filters out more fine particle than K&N. I also run Q 5-30 full synthetic oil. Depends on the noise. If it's exhaust noise, since it's a 96 with new engine, check for exhaust leaks. New muffler? If it's vibration noise, look into new motor mounts. You could also eliminate a lot of in cabin noise by dynamatting the inside of the firewall, floors and doors. It's kinda spendy for the dynamat and time consuming but when finished it's like riding in a new benz or beamer. Just a few ideas, but get back to us and be more descriptive of the noise.
