My '96 ZX only has 42,000 miles, but recently the M.I.L. light (check engine light) illuminated. The dealer said that the codes indicated a possible problem with the automatic transmission, specifically, the valve bodies. In that I have had problems with this dealer's mx work in the past, I decided to get a second opinion. Cottman Transmissions confirmed the diagnosis and proceeded to clean the valve bodies and replace the trans. fluid and filter. Two days after the repair, the light re-illuminated. So much for Cottman Transmissions. Anyway, I believe that the computer codes were 731 and 732. (My wife is driving the Z today, and the bills with the exact codes are in the glove compartment. If these codes are not the correct ones, I will update this topic with the correct ones after she gets home.) If anyone has had a similiar or more hopefully, the exact problem, could you share your solution with me? Thanks in advance for any input you might have.
