96 j30 engine swap. now won't crank..

OK here we go.. first engine was overheated to the point the engine was no good. wrap heads. compression 65psi. so I when got a new engine. with plug and play. and now it just won't crank.. I got power everywhere ease. but at the 30amp fuse under the hood. relay power up fine. turn the key and not thing happen but the click of the relays. I am lost don't know much about these cars. and working on the car with out a book. or should I just stick down range and take pop shot at it intell it go boom.

Did you make sure that engine turns freely by manually turning the crank. Also make sure you starter turn over by removing it and touching it against the block while someone turns the ignition switch.

check wiring on alternator and to the starter. there also is a neutral safety plug that it is isnt hooked up you can get power but car wont start over. its on the harness to the transmission. i could check continuity on my car since i have mine hooked up to a switch for my manual swap.

this was a so much better idea so i should of when with it. I stuck the engine it in and the owner of the car came a took the car with out paying me. so thank you for the help guys.. and the problem was with the car i don't know. but i got stuck with the old engine. and no money for the job. zer...ote=1#

so anyone out there need parts for their j30. I got everything from the old engine. but the starter. sell for a low price just to recoup my losses. or if you need part let me know it an 96 engine what wrong with it. 65psi compression. it need to be rebuild. if I don't get a reply on it. it going to the scape yard.
