96 I30 radiator, same as Maxima or not

Hi,I have 96 I30, Auto with 252k on it. The top (plastic thing) of the radiator has started leaking. I bought a used 96 Maxima radiator but its not the same as my I30. The Maxima radiator is thin, probably half the thickness. The used parts dealer told me that its same for I30 and Maxima. Is the I30 radiator different?Should I go with OEM or are there any good after market radiators.Regards,Wasim.

I would think that they would be the same. I believe there are differences between the radiator for a manual transmission and an automatic. Maybe you got the wrong one. I'm sure someone else will post that knows better than I.

Hmm,, maybe it was production date 96 but MY 97?Otherwise the cars are mechanically identical.

The cars are identical and he radiators are the same from 96 to 99 in both cars, except between manual and auto. Its possible you had in your car or the used one you purchased was already an aftermarket unit.
