New to the board.....
Anyone ever had an issue like this: In order to start your i30, Nissan, etc....you have to turn the key to it's lowest turn point and hold it there for a second or 2 to get the engine to fire? I turn the key.....power everything immediately works but in order to fire the engine, I have to turn the key fully rotated and hold at that full rotation to start.
I took to Infiniti dealership last year because at one point, until I knew the trick of holding the key turned down for a second, I couldn't get it to start at all....they changed the starter. Obviously wasn't the issue.
Someone said solanoid, or a sensor which tells the transmission the car is in P. But why would it start at all just by turning the key all the way down and holding it there? Just very confusing....car works but it's a headache. If an oil change man gets in the car to move it, he can't start it because he doesn't turn the key and hold it......
By the way...love my 11 year old i30. In mint condition with 120,000 miles on it. Have had to change the oxygen sensor a few times though which is annoying. But otherwise, love my car.
Thanks for any help.
