i just did an engine swap, after the swap was complete there was no spark so i took it to a guy and he fixed it now the car runs nice. there is one problem however, the radio lights up but no sound comes out of speakers, not even static. anyone know the cause of this? i checked all connections on the back of the radio and all fuses in the fuse box related to audio/bose, i looked in the infiniti fsm and it says i should check the audio amp relay and gives some vague diagram of the location of it but i cant find it!! my questions are:

1.where is the audo amp relay located?2.where is the actual bose amp located?3.what are other possible causes/remedies?

As always thanks in advance for any input!!

Three fuses and one relay are involved for the Bose Radio and CD Player (head unit). -Fuse #40 (7.5A) - located in the Fuse Box (driver side, below instrument panel), provides backup battery power (always ON) to the head unit.-Fuse #22 (15A) - located in the Fuse Box, provides power to the audio components (speaker amps) via the Audio Amp Relay.-Fuse #21 (10A) - located in the Fuse Box, provides power to the head unit when Ignition is in ACC/ON. When radio is turned ON, the head unit provides power to energize the Audio Amp Relay.-Audio Relay - located close to the Radio/CD player, provides power to the speaker amplifiers.

It’s possible that you have a loose connection behind the head unit (radio/cd player).

For repair and refurbishing of Bose/Clarion head units, try "carstereohelp.com." Aside from repairing Infiniti/Nissan audio system from Bose/Clarion, they also have instructions on how to remove the head unit (nominal fee)http://www.carstereohelp.com/

thnx for the info, i checked everything from the 3 fuses and located the amp relay which is located in the passenger side right foot kick plate under some dynamat looking material next to an inactive mirror defogger relay i have checked all connections to the radio and changed the relay. in addtition i have confirmed that i am receiving power from the 15a bose fuse which supplies power to the relay and also i have confirmed the amp on (green/white) wire was functional. any thoughts?

If the Audio Amp Relay is working, then the head unit is probably bad. The front/rear LH/RH speakers have separate amplifiers so iti is very remote that all of them will fail at the same time. But before giving up on the head unit, clean the connectors to the head unit (contact cleaner), check for any push pin and apply dielectric grease to the pins. If the problem persisted, then it's time to have the head unit replaced/repaired.

ok ill go ahead and check the wiring and use some contact cleaner and dielectric grease. i just replaced the radio when i replaced the motor so i was hoping that wasnt the problem but im starting to beleive that may be the solution. ill post an update when i get the problem resolved thanks for all the help and info!
