So I have a 1996 2+2 and the 0-60 takes 15+seconds.
Once she's moving, she's moving... But WOT it crawls to pick up speed.
CEL is for shift solenoid, I swapped a whole new pack in there in case it was more than one. Nothing changed, exact same error. Had a spare TCU, tried that, no change.

Buddy says it's the valve body harness.... Internal? What harness? External? What the entire transmission harness?

Instead of guessing, have you plugged in a code reader?

Harness issue would certainly throw a code.

You must've missed that part in my post that states CEL for shift solenoid. I'm out of town till tomorrow but I'll post the code itself when I get home and pull it tomorrow.
I don't like to guess, hence I'm also here looking for support. The person that mentioned the valve body harness is a mechanic at my local speed shop and has worked on a few z32's

I get all that. My point is that the CEL may not be the sole code.

Don't want to be rude, but I don't need his resume (I have the same exact car in my collection). A damaged harness should show up as a separate code.

When you swapped the solenoid, how was the fluid? New filter?

I'm thinking this isn't transmission-related, unless the speed sensor or TCU is acting up... the TPS and other sensors all talk to the TCU. IIRC, there's also a kick down switch that talks to the TCU, it can fail / break. It looks like the brake switch on the brake pedal arm.

There's a transmission diagnostic flow chart in the FSM, which you can grab here: nicoclub.com/FSM

Eager to see what this one winds up being.

No worries. After doing this for 22 years, I usually roll my eyes at "my mechanic buddy said..." ;)

Out of my whole collection, it's the car that's given me the most headaches. :)

Right lol!!!! They work on so many random things to vs people that spend the majority on z32's... I thought it was a unique statement that's why I dropped it here lol
