This vehicle displayed codes for 02 sensor#1, MAF P100 and EGR Valve, replaced all with new, same problem exists. Problem started at the car wash when a high pressure air hose was used under the hood. What should I change next. Car was diagnosed by Nissan dealer and they also listed the above components for replacement.Car will not accelerate at all. manifold test shows 16 inches of vacuum at idle. Thanks for any help,F Glass

does the engine idle rough? is it a steady 16" or jumpy?two things these engines are famous for (make that 3)....1. any time you get water near the spark plug holes, you gotta REALLY dry it out. (i find that unplugging plug wires and pulling out of holes on a HOT engine [engine off of course] bakes out the moisture)2. intake gasket (plenum to head) sucks in. huge vacuum leak.3. oil leaks into distributor disrupting spark timing.

if all above check out, what is the measured fuel pressure downstream of the fuel filter (no guesses please).

3Q Jay, Thanks for your reply!vacuum is steady 16no plug moisturehowever, distributor heavily oiled, I cleaned it fixed up the o rings and put it back in (exactly the way it came out). NOW WON'T START AT ALL! shows a cam sensor code after the cleaning. Used electrical contact spray, but there is residual magic marker on the pickup disc, could that cause trouble?what do you think?ThanksFGlass

both my U13's have had the distributor replaced. even after o-rings stop the external leakage, the shaft/bushing inside leaks. get a nissan factory reman'd one. you can tell this by the silver part number sticker will have the nissan number (don't recall the specific part number), and an 'R' at the very end --perhaps it might end in 1e400R. you might be able to source one thru other channels than nissan dealer for less money, but verify that it has this specific nissan sticker with an R showing factory remanned before you buy. non-OEM at your own peril.

3Q Jay,You were correct, it was the distributor, and the proper fix IS a new one, or as you said a factory rebuild.Everyone should remember this, to save time when confronted with these symptoms.FGlass

Water in the distributor I bet. Wow, way for me to be late in a thread. Alts Distribs are not uncommon.
