My grandmother has a 96 altima. Today we were going out to the movies in her car. She drove it two days before and claims it has never stalled like this before.

When approaching a left turn at very low speed the car stalled. It started back up no problem. I did not have to give it any gas when starting it. Also no check engine lights or trouble lights came on.

Once driving again it seemed to be fine while accelerating but once I slowed down to make a turn it stalled again. Again it started without giving it any gas.

This cycle repeated itself about a dozen times by the time we got back into the driveway. Although each time it seemed to have more difficulty starting back up.

Each stall was at a low speed turn or at a stop.

Any idea what the problem may be?

I had a similar problem with my last car - a 93 Buick. The engine would die while the car was coasting (foot off gas). I sold it for cheap to a friend who knew the problem well.

It's been in the shop, and after many part replacements - no one has been able to fix the problem.
