I have a 96 altima that I bought a short air intake and an OBX header off of e-bay and now I over heat. After changing my thermostat and my water pump, I have resorted to putting my stock exhaust back onhttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zeropost?cmd=newtopic&id=76#zer...id=76# I could use some advice.

My question is how hot did it get after you did these alterations? If you let the head get too hot even for a few seconds you could have blown a head gasket,,,,,,,,,,,,,now thats a fun job to do,,,,,,,,,Takes almost a hour to do it.

The engine still runs good Ive got a surging problem in my coolant system. Spent the weekend taking of the obx exhaust and put the stocky back on. You say a head gasket only takes an hour.... you wanna come do mine lol. I tryed to do a head gasket to the original motor and with out success I got another motor that has run very strong for the last 8 months or so. Thanks for the input keep it comin!zeropost?cmd=reply&id=2567603#http://fo ... er...67603#

the stock header has an exhaust shield, cause its rite on the radiator, so rap the after market header with insulation (tape) just make sure its rated for extreme heat. your intake is prob needing insulation too, or take off your hood!!!
